Playtime

Brighton has been smiling this week, and not just the newborn gassy smiles, though he has done plenty of those since his birthday. Since yesterday he has started doing real smiles. It is so cute. Of course, these are in between screams and cries sometimes!! He definitly has his unhappy moments, but we will take the smiles when we will get them. These pics do not capture any smiles, really, but they are some of him on his playmat when we got it out for the 1st time.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

We were all dressed up with no where to go for St. Patrick's day. Ha!! Brighton is doing well. He is growing so big that his mom and dad cannot even believe it! He hates having his picture taken so it has been hard to get some good shots but I will keep trying!

Settling into Family Life

Parenthood has been great. We are loving every minute with little Brighton. He has been a joy. Most of the time :) Staying home has been great. I am on my maternity leave, and Jason works from home, so we get to spend alot of time with our little boy. We have been working out the sleeping schedules and so far we have been able to make it work well for us. A special thank you to our mothers who have come to spend the night and given us some relief, and let us sleep through the whole night, as well as those who have given us a little bit of time to ourselves. Brighton has wonderful grandparents! We have had so many visitors and I believe that Brighton is very popular! Thanks for all of the love and support from everyone. These weeks have been the happiest of our life!!

On 02-22-10 we were finally able to welcome to the world little Brighton Jax Flowe. He was born at 1:09 PM weighed 7 pounds and was 20 and a half inches long. Mother is doing well, and Daddy is so overjoyed! We are both just so in love with our beautiful baby boy!! It has been unbelievable. We are so happy that he is healthy and we love him soooo much. Sorry that it took me so long to blog his arrival, but it has been hard to sit down with the computer and stop looking at the perfect little precious baby boy long enough to. I hope that you can enjoy these pictures and we cannot wait until everyone gets to meet him!
Oh Baby!

Going Home Day

We  had a wonderful stay at CMC University. We stayed there for 3 nights. It was an amazing time. It was like a little vacation almost. Great time to bond with our new baby, learn quite a bit and get some rest. We were almost sad to leave. But we did. On Thursday around lunchtime we departed the hospital and headed for home. We will never forget those 3 1/2 days there though. It was a great time for our little family.
Looking good in blue.
Why do birds suddenly appear, everytime you are near? Just like me, they long to be close to you.

Home Life

We are home now. These are some pics of him in him mostly swaddled up. He loves to be swaddled and is at his happiest.

More nursery pictures

We got the glider finished. The cushions have small blue dots on them but they do not show up in the picture. We also hung some shelves and pictures. Most importantly, the amazing artwork that Lacey did for us. Thank you so much!! Also, she painted the rocking horse. This horse was mine when I was a baby. He was plain brown and Lacey gave him a new look to match the rest of the decor! The book rack was of course done by my talented mother. It all came together so well and I could not be happier. Now all it needs is a little baby boy to occupy it. He will be here very soon. I imagine this will be the last post that I do before he arrives. We are so excited.  Check back soon!!
