Photo Shoot

Lacey and Jameson were in town for a few days. Gosh, it has been so long since we have seen them! Jameson has grown so much in only a few weeks. We decided to take the children to get their pictures made. The photo shoot was SO much fun! We went to Portrait Innovations and I highly recomend them. They were great with the kids and getting them to smile and keeping them entertained. We WILL be back.

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a busy Memorial Day weekend. The time off was nice and the time spent with family was even better. Friday night Jason and I attended Nick Lerow's surprise 30th birthday party. It was a great time. The rain did not get us down! It was a good time seeing good friends.

We spent Saturday celebrating Poppi's birthday. Brighton got his 1st taste of Baygents Beach but he promtly fell asleep!
I just want to say that I did miss my Thomas cousins, Aunts and Uncles and Memorial Day is never the same without them. I hope to see all of you soon.
Sunday Rachel came to keep little Brighton (Thank you!) and I got to spend the day with my sister at the pool. Jason went to the race. Monday was spent resting up from all the fun activities. It rained and I don't think we cared a bit!! That was our weekend.

Brighton is 3 Months Old

What have we been up to the past couple of weeks? Lets see, Stephanie came to visit us last Friday. We had a great time, and Jason and I met up with she and Patrick Saturday night, as well as Craig and Kelly.  This weekend marks the beginning of Race Week or Race Weeks in Charlotte. Normally we would avoid all race areas as the traffic is crazy, but for the past 5 years, Jason and I have gone to a work affiliate of Jason's Carolina Restoration's gigantic tailgate party at the All-Star's Race. We have gone to the race in the past and let me just say this is the only Nascar race I prefer to go to, because they are short and can hold my interest. ONe thing is for sure, we always have a great time at the tailgate. It is a family type of affair with plenty of fun, a huge RV, and lots of good food, drinks and people. This year, at 1st we thought that maybe Jason would just go, but then decided maybe we could go as a family. Glad that we did. We didn't stay long but long enough to let everyone meet Brighton and for us to have a taste of a good time!!Here are some pictures from the day. Brighton was in good spirits!!

Next weekend is Memorial Day Weekend, and we have a FULL weekend, so we had better rest up!!

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers out there! I enjoyed my 1st. I hope everyone had a nice Mother's Day weekend.

What a nice day. The weather here was beautiful. I got to go out with my own lovely mother to celebrate her and then Jason took us out for our own celebration later. It was so nice and I have enjoyed my whole day and weekend.

Growing up and hanging out on the weekends

We really enjoyed our Saturday. Tommy and Emily's daughter Lakyn celebrated her 1st birthday. We went to her birthday party in Tega Cay. What a fun time!! We saw a bunch of Jason's oldest friends and their children. Ha, it was quite an experience to go and see all of the people that we used to hang out with just a couple of years ago and now to be with them again and add in all of our babies! Anyway, it was really good to see everyone. Had a great time. The weather was nice out on Lake Wylie, and there was a breeze. We got to visit with good friends and family today and it was fun.
When we got home from a great day out we all 3 sat outside on the deck. We brought Brighton's swing out there. He is finally starting to enjoy being outdoors. Yay!! He had a bottle and we grilled steaks. It was yum. Tomorrow is Mother's Day and I am excited!

10 weeks

Not a whole lot to report this time. Lets see, Brighton has been so sensitive to light all this time and he refused to open his eyes any time that we took him outside until last week. Now he is starting to look at the world around him when we take him outside. We are trying to get in more "tummy time" as well. We learned how to use the sling/carrier thingy. We were practicing today. He liked it. Dad or mom has yet to "wear" Brighton out in public though. The Dr said that him being in the carrier will help his head to shape up normally. Since babies sleep on their backs these days, this is so important. He is still having some gas pains and spitting up constantly (this is why he is always wearing a bib) but has his happy moments usually in the morning time. He does not love baths, but is usully happy right after one, which is nice! We are still trying the acid reflux meds. We went to the Dr. yesterday. Brighton weighs 12 pounds and 6 ounces. Everything looked good. He still has some baby eczema, so she gave us a presciption for that. Other than that, and the above, Brighton is good! He is a sweet pea.

Spring is here and the weekends are starting to fill up! We have birthday parties, special holidays, and lots of friends and family visits coming up!!

2 Months Old

It has been brought to my attention that I have not posted anything on here in over a month. For those of you who do check, I am sorry. It has not been because I am slack, but mainly because Brighton had some bad skin issues and we were wanting him to get better before posting pictures. I know, I know, the vanity!! Ha. Anyway, lets see. I went back to work. It is an adjustment for sure. Brighton is in YaYa's One on One Day Care. Thank goodness for that! Poor little guy has had some issues. He has acid reflux and we went on medicine for it a week ago. It is starting to kick in and we are able to tell a difference for the better. Good thing! He does not deserve to be in that much pain and distress. I think in another week we will see a better difference. Also, as mentioned above he had some skin problems. Lets just say that my Dr's office probably recognizes my number by now. On a better note, he has been smiling and almost laughing sometimes. It is pretty cute. His little neck is so strong and he can lift it up and look all around. It is really impressive as far as baby accomplishments go, or at least the ones that we know about, which are very limited, but still. Gaining weight and eating like a champ! We go back to the Dr. late this week and will find out his weight. If he is not to shy about it I will post it next time. I will try to post more often, so try and keep up!

Playtime

Brighton has been smiling this week, and not just the newborn gassy smiles, though he has done plenty of those since his birthday. Since yesterday he has started doing real smiles. It is so cute. Of course, these are in between screams and cries sometimes!! He definitly has his unhappy moments, but we will take the smiles when we will get them. These pics do not capture any smiles, really, but they are some of him on his playmat when we got it out for the 1st time.
