Happy Halloween!

I hope that everyone had a fun Halloween. We went to Ayden to visit the Antley's this weekend, and had a great time.

Lacey, Jameson, Brighton and I went shopping on Saturday while the guys watched football, and then they built us fires at night. It was finally fall-like weather.

We dressed the kids up like charactors from the Wizard of Oz. They were so cute. Cannot wait to go back. We will be going back at Thanksgiving, unless something happens to cause us to go earlier.... Lacey?

Fall

Fall is finally here! Sorry it has been a while since I have done an update. Since I last posted, Jason and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary. 5 years, I cannot believe it! It reminded me that it has been a year since I have been doing this blog.

Jason and I have been busy with some minor projects around the house. Actually, let me clarify that. Jason has been doing the projects while Brighton and I watched! He built us a grilling patio outside. Yay!! Thank you Jason! Since this is Brighton's 1st Halloween it was a hard decision deciding what he should be. I wanted him to be a pea in a pod since I always call him my Sweetpea, but I decided that was to babyish. Then, Lacey found a Dorothy costume for Jameson, so we decided that Brighton can be the lion. We borrowed Rhett Johnson's adorable lion costume for the occasion. He was the original precious lion. Next weekend we will be going to Ayden to visit the Antley's. Jameson and Brighton will get to dress up and go Trick Or Treating together. We will take plenty of pictures and I will post them for all to see!

Jason and I have always enjoyed carving pumpkins every year since we have been together. There are two reasons we enjoy this. The project it's self, and the pumpkin seeds that we roast after we gut the pumpkins!! This year we were less creative with our carving design, but more creative in getting the most seeds out of our work!! Happy Halloween everyone!

Colorado Springs trip - Ashley and Justin's wedding

We just returned from a wonderful trip to Colorado Springs. It was a chance to explore new grounds, come together with good friends, and most importantly see Ashley and Justin get married!
Justin went to the Air Force Acadamy, so it was fitting that they get married there, in the beautiful and unique chapel, and have the reception at the unbelievable Broadmoor Hotel. Wow! It was really something. Ashley was such an elegant, and beautiful bride. Everything about the wedding was done perfectly. I want to say a special thanks to Ashley, Justin, Max and Caroline!

When we were not enjoying the wedding festivities, we enjoyed some beautiful scenery. We explored Gardens of the gods, which boasted huge, red, natural rock formations, as well as rode the cog railroad up to Pike's Peak. It is a train that hugs a mountain and takes you up to the top, where you can see several different states. The view at Pike's Peak actually inspired the song "America the Beautiful. We also went to downtown Colorado Springs and enjoyed that.
All in all, it was a really fun and unforgetable.

"That future Flowe..."

This is a line from a Black Eyed Peas song that I used to hear when I was pregnant, and made me think of my little future baby Flowe that I hadn't met yet. In this case I am referring to my future sister in law, Kelly Hinesley! Craig popped the question while they were on a vacation in Jamaica a couple of weeks ago. We are all very excited. Congratulations to the happy couple! Good times to come.

These pictures and video were made at random times around the house. Brighton loves to sit up these days. He wants to grab everything that he can get his hands on. When we go places everyone comments on how happy he is, and also how big he is. Not only is he a hefty, heavy boy, but he is long for his age. Good thing he gets plenty of exercise in his bouncy seat! He will bounce for an hour at a time. This has been his favorite activity so far.

I don't really have much else to report at this time, but thought I should post some new pictures. Jason and I will be off to beautiful Colorado Springs soon for Ashley and Justin's wedding. Looking forward to leaving this awful heat behind.

Labor Day Weekend

We just got back from Myrtle Beach. We stayed at the condo with Lacey, Mickey, and Jameson. This was our second annual trip on Labor Day weekend. We had a great time! Last year while we were there I was pregnant, and this year it was Lacey's turn. We really did enjoy it. We ate good food, stayed up to late, and got plenty of sun.
This was Brighton's 1st trip to the ocean. He really did okay. I was surprised. Lacey brought us a tent and he took a few naps in it. When he wasn't napping he was sitting up in his bumbo just taking it all in. Jason was proud of his little beach buddy.
So this marks the end of our summer. So sad. We have had a busy one!

Thanks to Lacey, Mickey and Jameson, we had a fabulous time and cannot wait to do it again!!
