Had a fun time on Friday night with Kelly, Craig, Lacey, Mickey and Kelly's sister Courtney and her boyfriend Bill. We went back to the Wine Cottage. We are really digging this place. Fun, fun times!

Bright Blessings Auction

Last weekend David and Alan(our friends and builders), as well as their wives Erin and Jackie invited us to a charity auction for Bright Blessings. This charity provides birthday parties for homeless children. It was at the Speedway Club and was lots of fun!

The House Has Been Built!

April Fools! Ha this is not ours of course.I only wish it could be done that quickly!
Good news for the Antley's!! After a whirl wind decision to move to Denver NC, and accept a job in Columbia, Mickey was offered another office. Yes folks, I know it is hard to keep up with. Mickey will now run the Charlotte, NC Maxim office. This is the best news they could possibly ask for! No more commuting for him. They are all moved in. This is their new beautiful house.

Lot Progress

More pictures of dirt for your viewing pleasure!! This shows how the lot has been cleared, and then dug out for the basement. Our lot was sloped, so we knew we had to pick out a plan with a basement. The plan we have chosen will have a main level with our living area, kitchen, dining room, office, bathrooms and 3 bedrooms. The lower level will have some space for a play room, and possibly a media room, and a 4th bedroom and bath for all of my guests that I anticipate will be visiting us!

Brighton's 1st Birthday Party

We had Brighton's birthday party at the clubhouse in my mom's neighborhood. Since we had such a nice turnout, it was tight, but worked well. It also helped that the weather was beautiful that day, allowing some of the children to play outside! Brighton was a little uncertain of his cake, but he sure did make a mess! It was a great time. I thank everyone who was able to attend to help us celebrate!

Turning 1

Here are some updated pictures around the week that Brighton turned one. In one of these pics Brighton is sitting with my former tricycle that I had when I was a baby. I don't know how old it actually is, as it was given to me second hand, but my dad had it refinished for Brighton. It looks great. Before it was covered with rust.

OMG it's March 1st!

So, I cannot believe it is March 1st!! With the nice weather we have been having it is not hard to believe, but other than that, I cannot believe it. I have not had a chance to post pictures of Brighton's birthday party yet, but that will come soon.

The purpose of this blog is for many reasons. The main reason was so that I could post pics of Brighton for all of his loved ones to see, as he grows. After I began doing it, I realized it will also be sort of like a baby book for my son. Something he can look at when he is older, to see what all went on over the course of his childhood. Since I am using it for that purpose, I may as well use it to chronicle the building of our new home so that Jason, Brighton and I all have a progress of it to look back on. Not much has been done at this point. It has been cleared and staked off. This is a before picture. I will post an after picture soon.

We have a busy month. Building, and then we have a trip planned with a group of friends at the end of the month to the Dominican Republic. Woo!!

Happy Birthday Brighton

Last night I was thinking back to a year ago. I was remembering the anxiety I felt about how life as we knew it was about to change. I can remember that Sunday evening as I ate my Big Mac meal. My "Last Meal" and the last Big Mac I have had since. Monday morning we woke up and it was a rainy day. We had our bags packed and off to the hospital we went. I can't remember how scared I was, but I am sure I was. With us, our families gathered around us to wait for little Brighton to enter the world. And he did. He was so beautiful I remember. What a special day it was. I cannot believe how fast a year has gone by. Everyone says it goes fast, but it really, really does! Brighton is the happiest baby and such a GOOD baby. We love him so much and cannot wait for all of the birthdays to come. I wish they would just come a little slower! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIG BOY!!

My shishter

Lacey and her family have been living in Ayden, NC for almost 2 years. It is 4+ hours away from me, and I am not used to living with her and Jameson that far away. Now that Michael is in the picture, it has been even harder, not being able to see her change and grow the way I would like to. It has been hard. Good news!! Mickey accepted a new office in his company in Columbia, SC. They are moving HOME to Denver. This means that Mickey will be having a huge commute and is making a big sacrifice for his family. In doing so, he can put Lacey close to her family and also be much closer to his family in SC. They are moving Thursday. I could not be more excited!!

February Update

Greetings... Sorry that it has been so long that I have posted anything. The truth is, we are still trying to get organized in our new living situation, and we could not locate our camera cord for a while. Found it! Lets see what all has gone on this month. Well, my parent's had water damage and had to move out of the house for 2 weeks while their floors were refinished. Jason, Brighton and I toughed it out downstairs while the work was going on. It has been completed and they have moved back in.

Also, I have been trying to get Brighton's birthday party planned. It is just crazy to me how fast this year has gone! He is crawling as fast as a bullet. He has also been making some cute faces. He gives big slobbery kisses as well. I cannot wait for his birthday party!!

There is an above picture from Amy Rowland's surprise 30th birthday party. So much fun to surprise her and see a lot of good friends!

On another occasion, we went out to a neat wine place with Kelly, Craig, Melissa and Kendall who happen to be my fellow bridesmaids in the wedding. It was so much fun and we will be going back there again.

We have not broken ground on the house yet. We are waiting on a couple of things to go through but we are very anxious to get started.

Happy Valentines Day!!

Lacey, Jameson and Michael came to stay for a week. It was really fun. It was also crazy with 3 kids around! Our family went from having 1, and jumping to 3 in a short time. It was a great time though. While they were here we took them to have pictures made, since Brighton is turning 1, and Jameson 4.










We once again had another wonderful session at Portrait Innovations. It was time consuming but I love how they turned out.

Michael has grown so much but is still a tiny little baby. She is soooo sweet. Brighton loved having his cousins around. Now we are looking forward to Brighton's 1st birthday party which is right around the corner!
