Choo Choo Train Ride!

Lacey had been at the beach a few days prior to our visit and had come across this train ride in the Myrtle Beach mall. She had taken Jameson on it and she said "Mommy, we HAVE to bring Brighton to ride it when he comes because he loves trains!". So one rainy day during Irene, we headed to the mall. Brighton loved it. It circled the mall and he just stared out the window.

Here are some recent pictures of the exterior of our new home. The staining on the woodwork is not yet complete, but these will give you an idea.

Brighton got Foot Hand Mouth disease, and had it all weekend. Poor thing. He has not felt good for the past few days. The doctor told Lacey there is nothing you can do for it, that it just has to run it's course. It is a common virus that toddlers get. Jameson caught it last week and now little Michael has it as well.

We are planning on going to the beach at the end of the week. I hope this hurricane will not mess it up!

Retaining wall. Fun stuff.

Unlike his father, Brighton is obviously a hat man. He LOVES to wear the Bear Bryant hat. He requests it on a daily basis and takes pride in wearing it quite often.

Things are going slowly at the house. The move in date is now Sept. We got bad news after a storm that we have to have a retaining wall built. I guess it has been a while since I have posted pics so I will do that soon. I really wanted the front door to be stained before I did so, but I think that will be one of the last things done, so I will try to post pics soon.

I am kind of sad. Stephanie Beal was at the house and she was trimming Jameson's hair so I asked her to trim up Brighton's. It was time because it had gotten out of control but shocking to see the change over from baby to little boy. He still has curls in the back. Steph did a good job, but as a mother it is so sad seeing your child grow so fast. Oh, what the heck? He is still a CUTIE!!!

Choo Choo!

The little one is all about choo choo trains these days. He likes for us to read books about them, and to play with train toys. He has several different ones. There is an article in Southern Living magazine about Tweetsie Railroad, and he always wants to look at the picture ( for those not from NC, it is a train amusement park in the NC mountains). He will bring you the magazine and ask for you to open it to "Choo choo". Newest food that he loves is eggs. So bring on the eggs and trains!!

Charleston Trip

We had a great time with Shayna, David, Rhett and Remley last weekend. The guys got in some early morning fishing, and Shayna and I got a little beach day in. We also joined them at their neighborhood pool party/cookout and sandbar boating event. The adults got one night out and went to a delicious tapas place for dinner. It was lots of fun! Thank you Johnson's!!

Football!

It has been so hot here. Everywhere from what I understand. Last weekend we pretty much stayed in the inside AC or in a pool!

A lot has been going on at the house. They have installed the hardwood floors and most of the cabinetry. I have not taken any pictures because I want it to be a bit more complete before I do. I am waiting on the outside to be a little more completed as well, before I take another picture of it.

Brighton's new favorite words are "Uh Uh" meaning NO. Ask him almost anything and that will be his reply. He is becoming obsessed with choo choo trains, and it is cute.

This weekend we are off to Charleston for part business, part fun. We will be visiting The Johnson's so that should be great fun as it always is. I have decided that Brighton is probably not ready yet for the long, rough boat rides on the ocean and the all day beach destinations so we are going to leave him behind this last year, but he will go with us next summer and be old enough to enjoy it and play with Remley and Rhett.

The washing machine is broken at Southfork, so Lacey was gracious enough to let me come over and do laundry on Sunday. It was also a great excuse for us to let the kids play and us watch some dumb Lifetime movies, something we don't get to do much anymore.

Jameson drove Brighton around in her pink Barbie jeep. It was adorable!! She gave him whiplash a few times but it was funny to watch.

This is how Brighton "rides his bike". He was pushing it around the house the other day. He doesn't yet understand that he can sit on it and use his legs.

Baby Michael is such a HAPPY baby and she is so good. She is a sweetheart. Crawling around all over the place now!

Happy 4th of July!

I hope everyone had a fun 4th weekend. We enjoyed the long weekend! I went antiquing with Billie on Saturday. Saturday night my mom, Lacey and I went to see David Gray in concert. Lacey and I had given my mom tickets for her Mother's Day gift. The show was amazing! He sounds exactly how he sounds when he is blaring on our car speakers. The best part of the night was when we were in the parking lot, waiting on our ride (my sweet husband)and David walked out to get on his tour bus. He stopped to meet and greet and signed our shirts! He was so nice.

Other than that we spent the weekend around the lake or the house. We caught some pretty good firework shows all weekend long as well.

House Progress

We have a lot going on at the house right now. They have almost completed the stone work on the exterior. Inside they have done the tray ceilings, hung doors and are almost finished with all of the trim work. They say that cabinetry and flooring should be installed in about 2 weeks. I am debating whether or not I should post interior pictures on this blog, as I want everyone to come and visit me when it is finished and they may not come if they have already seen it!
