Soccer!

Here are a few pics from Brighton's soccer games. He gets so excited about playing. Has yet to score a goal but we are just waiting! His coach said he loves how he always shows up with a smile!

Go Wild Cats. Go #2!

Spring has come early for us! At least for now. Brighton has started soccer but the last 2 weeks have been a wash due to rain. Things are looking up now.  He is thrilled to practice.
Also, he is so excited to wear his new clothes to school this week. The boy loves his clothes! He is excited for shorts because he claims to hate jeans.

Baylor is becoming a big boy. He refuses to sit at his high chair and pretty much repeats everything Brighton says. He says many amusing things lately but my favorite is after his bath. His fine hair gets so matted up in the back if I don't brush it, so I have to when its wet. He hates having his hair brushed and when I am done he screams "Give my tangles back!!". He's serious. He wants them back. Now.
He is becoming very independent and want to do everything for himself from zipping his pajamas to putting his seat belt on. "I DO IT!" and you can't really mess with that tough guy!

Old School

My Aunt Paula must have decided to play with her scanner because she is posting some great old pics on Face Book. Here are my mom's parents Ernest and Juliana Thomas (Guy and Bubba to us).

And this little gem was of us Thomas cousins. This had to be taken about 1984ish? I remember walking to have this made before the big Easter egg hunt.

Some are saying that Lacey and I look like Jameson and Michael in bad, unbrushed 80's wigs!! And Baylor totally has Patrick and Meredith hair!

It is that time of year again that I always complain about. The dreary last days of winter that are wet and cold and seem to drag.....

However, it is March so there is the glimmer of hope. Knowing that nice weather is coming. To pass the time, last weekend we got out and met Craig and Taylor at Discovery Place Kids. Max used to take Brighton here all of the time but I had never been before. It was such a cute place for little kids. They had a blast!

The bank was a big hit
This week at preschool was spirit week. The last couple of days were so easy for me as Brighton was allowed to dress himself and I would not be judged as a parent by his choices! Wacky tacky Wednesday, and pajama days!!

Hayden Flowe brought the snow!

Our baby niece Hayden Olivia was born on Tuesday. Kelly and Craig welcomed their 2nd beautiful daughter.

We got to meet her - sort of. She wouldn't look at us. She was to hungry to look up! Hopefully we will see her again soon when all of this mess snow is gone! She sure does look pretty like her sister in the pics I've seen.
SNOW DAY!!!!

Brighton's 5th Birthday

Brighton's 5th birthday fell on a Sunday this year, so we were able to have his party on his birthday, proper. (For Shayna). I cannot believe my baby is 5 years old. He is so smart and grown up though, I guess I can.

In addition to family he got to invite all his school friends. He was soooo excited!!
I cannot believe I have a 5 year old who can write, practically read, and surprise me with the witty and sweet things that come out of his mouth! We love him so.

Getting busy on Valentines Day

Minds out of the gutters please.
I mentioned late last year that we are finishing the basement. This has been quite a project but we believe that the end is near. We had a HUGE list of things to pick out in order for it to be finished up. Rachel and Donnie kindly took the boys, and let us have a whole day of getting busy on the basement. We had to order materials, and make final decisions on light fixtures, etc. We have probably spent every weekend at Lowes, Home Depot, various tile shops and places. To the extent of Brighton throwing himself on the floor in tears last weekend when we mentioned going to Lowes! So, they had a very fun stay with Gigi and Pop instead.

 Cousins!

After a long day of shopping and decision making we ended up at a local restaurant enjoying a quiet night to ourselves. I really enjoyed the day with my Valentine. We have been so in sync on this project and have had fun planning and picking stuff out together.

We spent all day Sunday celebrating with the kids. We had lunch then did a shopping trip, and opened VD gifts, then we stayed HOME as it is COLD outside!!

Last weekend we had incredible weather! Jameson spent the night with us on Friday and on Saturday I took the kids to the new park and Lacey and Michael met us there.

Sunday was even better so Jason and I took the boys back and enjoyed the day.
Thursday Brighton had his Valentines party at school. He was so happy. Here is what the boys gave out this year.

Easy enough just add a glow stick! Still sticking with the Star Wars theme from last Halloween!
Brighton has been busy hand crafting his own Valentines all week at home. Right up his ally.

We are expecting a cold front this weekend and possible snow early in the week, so no park for quite a while :(

Fun weekend. It's hard to believe, but our BABY GIRL Jameson turned 8!! I just can't even...
She had a very fun party at Sports Connection that included bouncy stuff, laser tag and Monster High cake. Happy Birthday Jameson!

Also, Brighton went to the circus. This time with GiGi, Aunt Kelly, Uncle Craig and Talor. They had a great time!
Sweet cousins!

"Take Me To Church"!

Nothing major is going on right now. We are just trying to persevere through the long, wet, rainy winter. Brighton and Baylor have been LOVING the song "Take Me To Church" or "Take Church" as Baylor calls it by Hozier. They have no idea that the song has nothing to do with Unity Presbyterian church, Sunday worship, but God bless them, for thinking so. They play it loud on my phone over and over and dance. Baylor's dance moves are hilarious. When he thinks no one is watching he is gliding around like a Phish follower or a little Dead Head, just a boppin. Precious.
Meanwhile, at actual church last Sunday, Jameson got to serve as an acolyte. She was so proud. They had a chili/soup competition afterwards. These pictures are terribly blurry, sorry.

And here is Pop the pirate when he came to visit us last week!

Now that we are in the new year, nothing has slowed down. This is my busiest time of the year for work and Jason has been busy as well. Of course our boys keep us constantly busy, but I thought I would stop for at least a quick update.
Lacey and Mickey had their annual Oyster Roast. I think this was #4?? IT was fun as always and GREAT oysters!! It was wet and cold but Mickey managed to set it up so that everyone was comfortable.

Cards Against Humanity

After the oysters were gone, and the Panther's game over we enjoyed a game or two!
Fun times.

Brighton got invited to his 1st "friend birthday party". He has been to parties of cousins and family members of course, but we have not seen him much more excited than he was when he had his best friend Easton's invite in hand!
The party was at the fire station and it was such a cute idea. I may have to steal this for Baylor in a couple of years. They watched the firemen slide down the poles and the boys were allowed to play full range on the fire trucks! Scary huh? It was all very cute.

Birthday Boy

Now, Brighton is just on fire to have his own birthday party. We do big parties for the boys every other year and luckily this is the year for it!! I guess I'll get to planning.
