Weekend and Celebration

Last weekend was low key for us. Just trying to hold on to summer while we can. We did our usual.

After church

This week seems long. We broke it up by going to dinner with GiGi and Pop one night. We went to our favorite place on the water, The Landing. It was so nice out that we could sit outside. Loved the evening and the mild weather we have been having.
Silly heads!

Today we got to go to orientation at the preschool and meet the teachers. Baylor already knows his, Mrs. Anita and Brighton will be in his last year of preschool this year and has Mrs. Sandy. They were both excited!

And I have to shout out to Lacey and Mickey. Today is their 10th wedding anniversary!! 10 years ago we were  at Wild Dunes in a hurricane celebrating their beautiful union! 10 years is a land mark! What a special occasion! They are the best friends that I could ask for. I am so glad that they found and loved each other  and as a plus, brought two beautiful blessings into the world!
And to top that off, today marks my mom and dad's 40th wedding anniversary!! Yes 40 years! What an incredible accomplishment. I am so proud to have them as my parents and to know that they have been together and though so much 40 years later, after starting off as "best friends" in high school. LOVE YOU!

Salter Path~Indian Beach Crystal Coast Trip 2014

The Antley's and the Flowe's have returned from our 2nd week long beach trip together. Like last year, we went to the Crystal Coast. It is quite a drive but well worth it to see the beauty of the southern Outer Banks. Remote beaches, sand dunes everywhere and beautiful ocean front homes is pretty much what you see out there.

We arrived Saturday in pouring rain. The weather forecast for the week ahead looked grim. We were not optimistic due to what we had read, but lucky for us, the weather turned out to be PERFECT! Other than arrival day, the only rain that happened was when we were asleep at night!
Our days mostly consisted of sunning at the beach. The kids hunted for sand crabs and had buckets of them every day. They also enjoyed some boogie boarding. Brighton and Michael practiced their swimming skills at the pool each afternoon and are both little fishes. Baylor loves the beach but doesn't really go into the ocean to much. He sure did like the idea of wanting to boogie board though!
One morning we went to visit historical state park "Fort Macon" which dates back to Civil War times.  It was very neat. I did not get as many pictures as I should have but we really enjoyed it. It was very informative and interesting. We spent a good amount of time there, exploring.

PHOTO BOMB!
This shark was caught in the ocean where we had been a little over an hour before. We got ready for dinner and were taking some pictures near the ocean and noticed a man fishing on the beach. He was struggling with something large. We were intrigued and had to wait on him to reel this thing in. We assumed it was a bull shark or something. It was a shark alright, not a bull shark but a TIGER SHARK. 7 foot long bad boy.  Many of you know me and my irrational fear of sharks. As a child I refused to eat in a restaurant where they had the  stuffed beasts on the walls because they freaked me out so. I almost didn't walk down to take a closer look, but my curiosity got the best of me. Wow. A Great White shark being my biggest feared shark, Tigers come in at a close second place! The fisherman brought him in, and then released him back into the ocean, free to boogie board with us all the next day!! Luckily that next day the ocean was crystal clear and we were able to see everything around us out there. Or so I was told!

This night was at our favorite restaurant in the area, Port of Call. Delicious food and right on the water.
Love those dimples!

I guess Mickey and Jason got bored one night...

Had a wonderful time and a great week together. We were all sad to leave :(

Last Saturday was unseasonably cold for a July day. We had plans for Amy and Chad to come visit so we attempted the boat. We did get see the sun for a few minutes! Regardless, when you are with fun people, you will have a fun day, cloudy or not!

In other news, look who made the Unity Presbyterian Church News Bulletin on Sunday!
Michael is actually looking at the camera and Brighton is intently listening to the sermon!

And I conclude with this picture of Baylor, trying on Pop's glasses!

A Visit From the Clarks

Last weekend Kelley, Duane, Gracie and Emory visited. We had a GREAT time. The weather was beautiful. The kids got along great. Gosh, Gracie is really turning into a lovely young lady! Emory and Jameson are the same age and were so happy to see each other!

We even had a jetski for the occasion and we kept that thing BUSY!

The guys had to see if they still "had it". They did!
