Baylor Tide Flowe is here

and no, his name has nothing to do with college football! I wanted to incorporate my maiden name into his 1st name, so that is where that came from. Anyway, he is simply PEREFECT in every way. He weighed 6 lbs, 14 oz. and was 19" long. Born at 12:40 PM on Thursday, September 20th, 2012. Mother had a pretty easy time and everything is well!! He is sooooo tiny, I cannot believe it. He sleeps all of the time, waking up only to eat and is eating well too. We just LOVE him.
Brighton came to meet him at the hospital on Friday. It was very sweet. He was really excited and just thrilled that this baby that we had all talked about for so long was actually real.
Delivery was once again at CMC University, and just like the 1st time there, Jason, baby and I loved our stay. They were very good to us there. I know some people find this hard to believe but we almost did not want to leave. We were ready to get home to Brighton though, and start our new chapter. We left the hospital on Sunday. The weather had changed since we had gotten there and the day was perfect for going home. Almost like fall had arrived while we were there.
Here is Baylor Tide on Going Home Day
So, on Sunday, shortly after we got home, Brighton did too. He could not wait to see his little brother. He wanted to help Mommy feed him. He loves giving him kisses on his head. It is really sweet. For being such a good big brother, we gave Brighton a little play kitchen to play with. It is outside on our porch. Brighton loves to know what I am doing in the kitchen when I am cooking and likes to play in my utensils drawer so we thought this would occupy his time quite nicely, at least for a little while.
I am really enjoying being at home with my new baby. I love him more than I ever thought was possible. He just completes our family and I could not ask for a happier time in my life than now!! Baylor is a sweet pea and I am not even minding the long nights! Jason has been very helpful with him and we try to work out feedings times that work for both of us so I am very thankful to have such a supportive and helpful husband :) Also, Brighton has not yet asked us when we are returning Baylor to where he came from, so that is good too! I will add more to this blog as I can. Sweet Pea is sleeping and coo-ing right next to me as I post this.

Ticking away, the moments that make up a tall day.

One last time I am blogging. This one will be much shorter than the last couple. We are literally counting down until the moments that we check in to the hospital. Brighton is going on the world tour of grandparents while we are there, so he will be quite happy. I am packing his bag tonight. I am getting very emotional over parting from him to go and do this..like there is any other way. Last weekend was the last weekend he will be an only child. Oh I get teary eyed thinking of it, but I know once his brother is here I will not look back and will be so happy that he is here, completing our family!! I am not sure when I will be able to add anything to this blog for a while, but will probably be posting Facebook pictures sooner since I can do that from my phone much easier than I can add to this site. Goodbye for now and wish us luck!!

September 20th is the day...

and that's only 2 days away! I think I am ready. We had another productive weekend last weekend. I finally got my clothes and stored crap out of the former guest closet and put elsewhere and got baby clothes and blankets arranged in there with lots of space to spare! Also, we got the baby's room ready. Jason hung the blinds. He and my mom, got in there and hung the accessories and pictures. Please notice the beautiful artwork that my very talented sister did over the crib! The only disappointment was that the curtain panels that I ordered were to short, so we could only hang the valance for now.
Everything turned out better than I thought and the room now looks inviting!! Seeing it all up makes me realize that my ceilings are higher than I realized, so they sort of make everything look tiny. Well, that just means that there is room for more stuff on the walls!! I will be looking for some shelves next. In addition to improving that bedroom, we also got the house pretty clean and I packed my hospital bags. I FINALLY was experiencing some "nesting" tendencies which I have been greatly lacking this entire pregnancy.
Since I had to send my window panels back I did not take pics of the window/valence, but pictured above are the fabrics I chose for the room. The valence, chair as well as bedding are made out of this. I would like to use the top one on something else in there since I like it so much but not sure what I can do. Maybe a picture/bulletin board or something for the wall?
This is Brighton's new table and chairs. I have these beautiful little plans of the two of us out there sitting peacefully, coloring and enjoying projects and autumn weather while the baby sleeps inside. YEAH RIGHT!! Brighton does not sit still for long.

The Begingings of Baby's Room and Batman

Over the last week I have actually made some progress. I am not completely ready to bring baby home, but am certainly getting there! Jason got the baby bed and changing table assembled and moved into the bedroom. The bedding is in, but that's it as far as that room goes. Lacey painted me some beautiful artwork, and I have some wall decor that needs to go up with it. I am also waiting on the blinds to arrive so that we can hang the window treatments in there. All of of those things should hopefully be completed this coming weekend. Jason and I brought up all of Brighton's baby clothes, blankets, newborn contraptions (swings, seats, bottles boppy, etc...)and went through them. I washed them all and put them away. So, that part is at least done! I still have a lot of work to do in the closet in there. Maybe this weekend that will happen. I have been storing all of my winter clothes in there so those must come out and find another home :( These pictures are not the greatest as the lighting was bad, but they are better than nothing. More to come once everything is put up in there and on the walls.
Last weekend I found a few things that I have been looking for and finding them has made me feel very relieved. 1st, was a coming home outfit for the baby. Brighton had worn something that was monogrammed so that wasn't going to work for this one. I have been looking for a long time and could never find anything special enough. I finally did on Saturday! Yay. Also, for the past few months I have been searching for a wooden youth table and chairs set. I did not really care what it looked like as I knew we would just paint it, but still it has been hard to find! Like I said, I wanted it to be painted so I have been looking for something used on Craigslist. NOTHING but plastic tables have been on there for sale though. I was losing hope. Saturday, while I was out and about I passed the perfect table and chairs set for sale outside at someone's house!! I turned around and purchased it.The right price and everything! So after it has been painted it will go outside on our screened-in porch. I want Brighton to have a place to color and play with play dough, etc... out there so this will be perfect! I guess everything is going to come together after all.
Brighton has been obsessed with Batman for the last month or so. He loves dressing up like him and playing with all of his figurines and Batmobiles. He watches the old Batman shows from the 1960's. Or were they from the 70's? Anyway, he cannot get enough. I was at Target the other day and walked by the Thomas the Train section in Toys and got a little sad. He is all about Batman! Also, he has been doing VERY well with his potty training. His teacher even complemented him on it the other day to me!

Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day weekend was filled with family from my mom's side. Uncle Ronnie, Aunt Vicki, and Zach traveled from Greensboro, AL. Tyler, Sarah and Griffin came from Birmingham, AL, Patrick, Stephanie, Cooper and Carter came from Savannah GA. They all made the drive so that we could get together. I LOVE getting together with my Thomas cousins and this time was even more special as we had another generation to add to the mix.
So many little kids were around this time! So much fun!!
Cute Carter Kisgen on the kayak! (The kids were just sitting in this tube for this picture. Brighton is NOT allowed to be pulled in a tube until he is 5 and swimming like a fish!!)
We had a big group. We did some boating, floating around on the lake, and playing on the beach. We had shish kabobs for Jason's birthday dinner at our house on Friday (HAPPY BIRTHDAY JASON!!!), BBQ for Game Day at my mom's Saturday and Lacey and Mickey had a fish fry at their house on Sunday. While we were all together, Stephanie had a great idea to take a group picture with everyone dressed in their college game day apparel. This was done on Saturday as there were quite a few important college games on. We have a mix of team fans in this group, including Georgia PLUS some healthy rivalries: Alabama vs Auburn and (South) Carolina/Clemson. This was NOT the official picture. Stephanie is going to send it out this weekend hopefully and then I will post. This picture was taken as we were all assembling together to take THE picture!
It was a fabulous weekend. Such a great chance to see family members who we do not see often enough. It means so much that everyone made this effort. Thanks to those who traveled so far!
