Christmas 2011

Brighton asked for a Choo Choo this year from Santa. Santa delivered. This Christmas was so much fun as Brighton had lots of excitement and surprises.

Michael looking out the window.

I thought this was cute.

Here are some pics of various Christmas activities. We went to Kelly and Craig's house and had visits from the grandparents and visited grandparents over the course of 3 days. Everyone is with in 40 miles from us so it works out well.

Ring Toss

Lacey and Mickey got pretty creative this year. When we go to the beach there is this dive that we go to called Bimini's and they have a ring toss game. Jason loves it, and loves to play. Mickey built him one for the new house! What a great surprise and he did a GREAT job!

I had so many pictures, so I just had to choose a few. We had a very Merry Christmas! Our living room still looks like a tornado of toys hit it, but that is okay!

We are so blessed to have Brighton and our little family and to have all of our wonderful parents and brothers and sisters, and cousins! Christmas was so much fun this year!

Stephanie, Patrick, Cooper and Carter are coming for a visit next weekend. That will be a lot of fun. Looking forward to ringing in the new year!

Last day of school for the year

Brighton's last day of school Christmas party. This was the best shot I could get! He has three other classmates. Two boy's and a girl. I found out that he is the youngest of the group. The only one who has not turned two yet.
Thanks to Jason who helped me wrap the remainder of my gifts last Sunday I am 99.5% ready! Now I am making my grocery list for food for the weekend. I have decided not to get on the scale until after the new year!

Cousins Sleepover

We had a little cousins sleepover last weekend.

Christmas is almost here!!

I cannot believe this month has flown by. Actually I can. It always does! I am almost ready but there are a few last minute things that I have to do. I had a problem with my Christmas cards this year. They arrived early last week but were not quite what I had ordered. I was frustrated and the company was supposed to have overnighted the corrected cards and I still do not have, so my cards are super late this year. I LOVE getting Christmas cards from everyone each year and have gotten more than a few great ones this year! Sorry that mine have not arrived!

Looking forward to this weekend. I hope that everyone has a very Merry Christmas!!!

Anderson Landscaping Christmas Party

Jason's good friend Chris had a Christmas party last weekend. Chris owns a landscaping company and has helped Jason with the landscaping of our new home and we are very thankful to him. It was great to see some of our family as well as Chris'. He has a beautiful home. I SHOULD have taken a picture of his 17 foot real Christmas tree that he had in his living room!

The trouble with having boys is...

that they fall down and get hurt and are reckless. There is just nothing you can do about it. Boys will boys I guess. Brighton had to get his 1st (and hopefully last!) stitches this week. He was dancing around and just fell into the corner arm of a lawn chair. Brighton is not one of those kids who are climbers, looking for trouble, but he is VERY clumsy and falls down quite a bit. He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was very brave though and did not even cry during his 3 stitches. He has surely given us all a big scare.

Thank goodness we took him to have his picture with Santa last week!!
As you can see, he seems to be feeling just fine! This was taken the next morning. We have not been calling any extra attention to his Boo Boo because we do not want him to pick at it. So far it has worked, and he has not messed with it. He doesn't even know it is there! I hope that it heals nicely and the scar will fade! Poor little klutz. I wish I could keep him in a bubble!

Billy Graham Live Nativity

Uncle Jason and Jameson's 3rd annual trip to the Billy Graham Library's live nativity scene and carriage ride.

Santa Visit

We went to see Santa on Friday. Brighton was excited at 1st but began to grow leary of the whole situation as the time to sit on Santa's lap grew closer. We got a few of him playing in the snow dome before going in to see the Big Man. He cried at 1st but then calmed down. He looks very somber in his final pic with Santa. These are funny pictures to keep for years! I want to make a huge collage of them all one day the way that my mom did of Lacey and I through the years.

Holiday Tea Party

While Brighton's number one passion is still BALLS, footballs, soccer balls, basket balls, any kind, he does like to indulge in some make believe tea parties with Yaya. I think he really likes that the tables, chairs, cups and saucers are just his size!

Ho Ho Fever

Well, I would like to say that we have moved along from the Santa pot holder, but Brighton is still sleeping with it and using it as a puppet. Jason and I did get our tree up over the weekend, although my decorations are few compaired to years before. I need to work on this for next year. My stuff from years before did not really match the new house colors. Also I am lacking a mantel this year. We do have a few things. My mom brought us a paper mache "Ho Ho" that I painted for her when I was in 9th grade. He is just about the same size as Brighton and he loves him! He carries him around and dances with him.

We are trying to get Brighton pumped up for his Santa visit. He looks at the picture from last year a lot, and loves all of his "Ho Hos" and Christmas books, but he is at that age where I am sure he will be scared of him once he is up close and faced with sitting on his lap. This year may be the one of him crying while on Santa's lap! It's okay, those make for classics. Wish us luck and braveness please!!

Happy Birthday Michael!

It is hard to believe that just a year ago we ate our Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, then Mickey and Lacey left to go check into the hospital and Michael was born the next day! Lacey had Michael's birthday party at her house on Saturday, and it was just perfect. A gathering of close friends and relatives, nice weather and a very happy birthday girl!!

Brighton watching Michael eat her cake after singing Happy Birthday to her.

Cake

Michael did not need any urging to dive into her birthday cake. She loved every minute of it!
