Ho Ho Fever

Well, I would like to say that we have moved along from the Santa pot holder, but Brighton is still sleeping with it and using it as a puppet. Jason and I did get our tree up over the weekend, although my decorations are few compaired to years before. I need to work on this for next year. My stuff from years before did not really match the new house colors. Also I am lacking a mantel this year. We do have a few things. My mom brought us a paper mache "Ho Ho" that I painted for her when I was in 9th grade. He is just about the same size as Brighton and he loves him! He carries him around and dances with him.

We are trying to get Brighton pumped up for his Santa visit. He looks at the picture from last year a lot, and loves all of his "Ho Hos" and Christmas books, but he is at that age where I am sure he will be scared of him once he is up close and faced with sitting on his lap. This year may be the one of him crying while on Santa's lap! It's okay, those make for classics. Wish us luck and braveness please!!

Happy Birthday Michael!

It is hard to believe that just a year ago we ate our Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, then Mickey and Lacey left to go check into the hospital and Michael was born the next day! Lacey had Michael's birthday party at her house on Saturday, and it was just perfect. A gathering of close friends and relatives, nice weather and a very happy birthday girl!!

Brighton watching Michael eat her cake after singing Happy Birthday to her.

Cake

Michael did not need any urging to dive into her birthday cake. She loved every minute of it!

Tackle!!

Mickey's nephews and Ayden were playing football at Michael's party. Jameson and Brighton got to get in at the very end for some tackle action.

Thanksgiving

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. Jason, Brighton and I enjoyed a nice long weekend. The time off of work was really needed. On Thursday we went to Jason's Uncle James' house and Brighton got to "ride" a horse for the 1st time. It was exciting for him as he gets so happy to see the 2 horses that live near us that we pass everyday.

Ho Ho

Brighton probably doesn't remember much from his 1st Christmas but he will be taking it all in this year. Yaya has her house all decorated and transformed, so he is fascinated by Christmas already. He has seen her "Ho Ho's" and we have been seeing them in the stores. Gigi gave him some of Jason's old Christmas books which he is loving as well. Unfortunately for Brighton, I have done nothing to transform my house into anything that resembles Christmas yet. He accidentally came across a Santa pot holder/mitt that a friend gave me as a gift a few years ago that was never put away with my Christmas stuff. It was in the drawer with the other potholders and he dug it out and they have been inseparable ever sense. He sleeps with him and carries him around and uses him as a hand puppet. Pathetic I know, but it is pretty funny!

I hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!! We will stay local this year, and visit some family. Michael will be turning 1 so Lacey is having a small family party at her house for her. The guys have a big football weekend ahead. I will enjoy some time off of work, and hopefully get started decorating for Christmas so that my son has more than a pathetic potholder to represent Christmas to him! Happy Thanksgiving!!

"Pic Pic"

On Sunday Lacey and I took the kids on a picnic to a historic mill we had been told about by a friend. It was not to far from my new house. It was neat. We tried to have a picnic but Brighton would not stay still! Jameson and Michael were good though.

Historic Murry's Mill

These are not very good, but I thought I would post anyway. This is a replica of the mill. There was a cute old country store that was hundreds of years old that was an old mercantile store, and kept in the same fashion. We did not take "the tour" so we don't really know much about this place.

Around the house

Brighton's new coat and hat which he loves. Playing with "Yes" over the weekend.

Our weekend

We had a good weekend. We actually got to see a lot of family which normally doesn't fit into 1 weekend. Saturday Jason worked in the yard. It is really starting to look good. I will post a picture when we get our mulch. Soon I hope. Brighton and I went to Marshall's Home Goods and unexpectantly stumbled upon our new kitchen table. That was exciting! Jason and Mickey watched the Alabama game with my dad Saturday night. I think he needed the extra support :( Sunday we went to Kelly and Craig's new house in Cotswold. Really nice! While we were there we got to visit with them as well as Gigi, then later Abruelo and Abuela. After that we went to Fort Mill to visit Jason's grandparents. Brighton had a great time in their Elmo chair and feeding the farm animals! Lacey's birthday was Sunday and we went to the Japanese steak restaurant here in Denver. Very fun weekend!

Halloween

I have a few more pics of Halloween that I thought I would add.

I am so glad that the weekend is here. It is supposed to be sunny and cool. Perfect fall weather. We will be getting some things done around the house and have a few errends to run. No Panther's game so Jason is home all weekend.

We bought Brighton's 1st Christmas gift today. Whew! Is it really November? Busy times ahead! Oh and Christmas music. Jason's favorite. Mine, not so much! Happy Weekend everyone!

Trick or Treat?

This was Brighton's 2nd year dressing up for Halloween but his 1st year trick or treating. He was sort of mystified by the whole process! Lacey had a great idea to dress the kids up as Little Red Riding Hood, The Big Bad Wolf, and Grandmother. Mickey made them their own personal hayride. They lasted longer than I thought they would in the cold and we had a really good time!

Our Jack-O-Lanterns this year

We kept it simple this year. Brighton did like his Choo Choo pumpkin though!

Two Halloweens!

Brighton got a double dose of Halloween this year! His grandfather (Jason's dad) made him a Little Devil costume that he wore on Halloween Day. he had a play date with a little girl in Max's neighborhood and got dressed up. So cute!
