BUBBLES!

Last night when I was giving Brighton a bath in our bath tub he discovered something new. Mommy's tub has bubbles! I am sure bath time will never be the same. I wonder if we will ever be able to get him to take a bath in his own tub? It was fun though.

After bath

Brighton was so happy last night after his bath. Here are a few of him playing before bedtime. He normally winds down during this hour, but not last night!

Halloween weekend is upon us! I am still trying to talk him into wearing his costume. He likes it, but does not like wearing it :(

Boo!

Autumn morning view

Nothing to blog about really. Since I commented on the weather that I have been enjoying, I thought that I would post a few pics from early morning time views. These are views from the back. Jason is continuing to plant stuff all around, so I will wait to post those pictures until he is finished.

I will be so sad when all of the leaves fall off the trees, leaving it all so bare. It is getting chilly in NC this weekend!!

Over the weekend

I am loving this weather that we are having. I am even ready for it to get a bit cooler. Saturday Jason continued to work in our yard, planting trees and bushes. Brighton went to stay with his Abuelo and Abuela (Max and Connie). I spent the day at the High Point Furniture Mart with my mom and sister looking at beautiful things. I got to meet the very talented Glenda Gies who is a hand bag designer. My mom has been a fan of hers for a few years. http://www.glendagies.com/, so we walked away with those instead of furniture! Fun bonding time though.

Jason's college friend Matt Geitner and his girlfriend came to stay with us Saturday night, becoming our 1st official house guests! They all went to the Panther's game Sunday where the Panthers had a surprise victory!! Brighton and I went to Lacey's for a while on Sunday while Jason was at the game. Looking forward to my grandmother and great aunt's visit this weekend, and a friend's Halloween party. Also, dressing Brighton up and carving our pumpkin!

Shug, we have a problem...

Brighton's "Lovey" of choice has been his Sugar Bear from a young age. This bear originally came with a sound box inside him that attached to the crib and made mom's heart beat noises and such. Brighton never cared for this feature so one day I took the box out, and started making the bear give Brighton kisses, which made him laugh and laugh. Hence the name, Sugar Bear, now shortened to "Shug". Well, recently, Michael has taken a liking to this bear as well. She gets very excited when she sees him and steals him away from her cousin as much as she can. She is surpisingly strong and wins the tug of war quite a bit! I don't know what it is about this plain old Teddy Bear but he seems to be magic. They don't make them anymore so Lacey and my mom found Michael one of her own on Ebay. It has not been delivered yet so she is continuing to steal Brighton's when she can.

Pumpkin Patch

Last Saturday Lacey and I took the kids to a local pumpkin patch. It was really cute and geared for small children. There was an impressive playground, a large pumpkin patch where we each got to pick out a pumpkin, and a tractor pulled hayride that took us up a hill to where all of the fun was. We had a great time and it was the perfect start to fall.

The Grass is Greener

So, we have grown a little bit of grass at the new house. Jason has bought a bunch of bushes and plants to plant and has some serious ideas for the outside. The inside is still pretty much a blank canvas. All in good time.

We are settling in nicely. Getting used to our routines. Brighton sleeps good in his new room. We were worried that the morning sun would shine bright on us all, being in the back of the house with the large windows, but it is the opposite from that. He usually wakes up at 7:30 which has been nice, as he goes to bed at 7:30 in the evening. With work and school being so close, mornings are a breeze!

Wesley is back at home with us and Brighton is delighted by him. He pronounces his name "Yes" and always has to keep track of where Yes is. He tries to give him kisses constantly. Poor Wes is wondering why this little loud person is all over him, in his ear and chasing him constantly.

I just went to my sister in law's blog and saw she had taken this picture of Brighton over the weekend, so I decided to steal it from her blog and put it on mine! Thanks Kelly!

I have not updated this blog in a while. Partially because I have not taken any pictures. There is a lot going on right now.

Normally I like to report happy news on this blog but life is not always a bowl of cherries. Donnie, Jason's step dad lost his 1st born grand daughter to a horrible unfortunate murder last week. Cassie was only 24 years old. She was such a sweet girl with a bubbly personality. I think everyone is still reeling from that. She will really be missed. Everyone please keep Donnie, Rachel and the whole family in your thoughts and prayers. Donnie is being so strong, I don't know how he does it.

In other news Jason, Brighton and I have officially moved into the new house! Tonight is the 1st night that we are actually staying there. Is it weird that I am afraid of my own new house? I can't describe the feeling. It is fear mixed with excitement. It's time though!!
