Mrs. Keri's Class

Here is Brighton's class picture that I picked up this morning when I dropped him off. I thought it was pretty cute. They all look so serious.

Big Boy's 2nd Birthday Party

For Brighton's 1st birthday, last year, we threw him a big shin dig with lots of family and friends attending. I really think that 1st birthday parties are more for the parents anyway! This year for his 2nd , we decided to just have a family birthday party. I think we will get in the habit of only having big parties every other year. Not that this year's was small, by any means! We have a nice sized family and Brighton has lots of grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins who love him and wanted to celebrate. We had his party Sunday at our house. It was a really good time.

The Cake

Brighton was excited to see his Thomas cake but was not interested in eating it. That's okay because everyone else enjoyed it. I will never forget the look on his face when he realized that everyone was there to celebrate him. When we were all singing Happy Birthday to him, his expression was priceless!
Here are some pics of the food and birthday decor. I kept it pretty generic but you wouldn't believe how exciting a bunch of balloons can be to a 2 year old! No one even needed to bring presents, the balloons made him happier than anything!

Here are some random pics taken during the party.

We love our little joy, I mean boy so much and could not be more proud of him!!

Weekend

Last weekend Jason worked out in the yard on Saturday. Brighton and I played outside some. Ran some errands. Sunday was rainy and cold. The 3 of us decided to get out and go to lunch though. We went to Steak N Shake. Brighton has been eating so much better lately and is trying some new things. I am happy to report that he can eat cheeseburgers and cupcakes (foods containing milk that we have been staying away from). He is has been open to trying other things non milk related as well. His favorite new breakfast food is cinnamon raisin toast. Favorite snack is goldfish and peanuts. He still likes his old favorites though. Mainly corn, pronounced "Corna". I ordered him a regular cake for his birthday party this weekend. Yay!! Sunday evening we watched it snow as it turned dark outside. They were large and fast flakes. To bad they stopped and we did not get to play in it today :(

I cannot believe my little baby will be 2 years old this week.

Valentine's Day

I think Brighton enjoyed his Valentine's Day. He went to school that day with his mail box in tow carrying all of his valentines for his 3 classmates and teacher! They had a party. He brought home some candy and cards and a wrapped, framed Valentine for Jason and I that was so sweet! Roses painted out of his hands. That day I arrived home from work to find that my Valentine had brought home a bouquet of flowers for me as well as an appetite for fondue which I was planning on making. Plans did not go accordingly though. I was feeling terrible. I made some of the 1st course with Jason's help, but got so sick that I had to go to bed, leaving Jason the whole meal to himself. I spent that evening as well as the next day and a half in bed. I am not sure if I had the flu or some really yucky virus but I am feeling so much better this week.

Billie's shower

My good friend Billie Kiser is getting married April 6th. I am honored to be in the wedding. It will be here very soon! To celebrate the upcoming nuptuals , her maiden of honor and maid of honor, Sara and Alecia threw her a bridal shower. They had it at my house over the weekend. It was a "Sweet Treat" kind of day!

Here are the two hostesses who pulled off quite a nice shower. They did a romantic, whimsical LOVE theme.
It was something to see my house transformed into such a romantic, and pink setting!

After the decorations were down, the train was resurrected in the living room! Back to playtime!

Jameson is 5

It is hard to believe that little Jameson is five years old. I remember the day she was born like it was yesterday. Lacey and Mickey lived in Columbia, there was an ice/snow storm that night. She came into our world and everything changed! Oh how I love my niece!! Well both of them, but it is Jameson's day!

Other than Jameson's birthday, not a lot has been going on. Both Michael and Brighton just got over being sick. High fevers and achy bodies, being uncomfortable. Poor things. I stayed home with Brighton all weekend to make sure he was feeling better. Good thing we had the perfect rainy weather for it. He went four whole days without asking once to go outside which is unheard of for him. We are all better now.

Jameson had a Tea Party themed birthday party this year. The little girls from her class all met at a tea house and got to pick out dress up clothes, then got there hair and makeup done. After that, they all sat down at a dining table and had a sit down tea party. It was so cute. I was ticked that I got there, took two pictures before my camera battery died!
