Some Cute Baylor Pics

I thought I would share these cute Baylor pics. Some of them are dark, but I shared them anyway :)

This is the "crazy hair pic". I normally do not brush his hair after
a bath but decided to this night and this is how it turned out. Obviously the hair did not like the direction in which I was trying to get it to go.

Baylor has been on the move. He is rolling all over the place and fast. I would not be surprised to see him crawling by the end of the weekend. This is crazy as he was barely mobile a month ago. Seriously.  Ever since he got his band off, he has been wanting to be so active! I guess he got a slow start, but now that he has started, there's no stopping him!

Brighton is excited to go to the beach with his Gigi and Pop this weekend. Jason and I will miss him bunches but he will have a great time! Baylor will love being an only child for a while. I am sure he will light up like a Christmas tree when he sees his brother upon his return though. HAPPY WEEKEND!!

Memorial Day Weekend

Last weekend we had the prefect weather to enjoy the long weekend. I wish it could stay that way all summer. Perfect temps and low humidity. We spent our time on the lake as usual. A great way to kick off our summer!!

This toy boat has been around for 30+ years!!
Baylor was a happy boy in his swing!! The age of this swing is unknown...

On Sunday we celebrated my dad's birthday!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DB/Poppi! Had cheeseburgers and an ice cream cake to celebrate at the end of a beautiful day.

Can't wait for the rest of the summer! We have a few things coming up to look forward to.

8 Month Back to Back Time

I cannot believe these months of Baylor's life are flying by so quickly. I think that the 1st few were sort of rough because of his little stomach issues, him not sleeping through the night, and having to wear the helmet. Because of all of that, we were just eager to get him past that stuff, and now that he is, I just want to slow it down!! He is a great baby these days. So happy. On a predictable schedule, but is like a rubber band at times. Like our recent beach trips, he can bend a little to accommodate whatever is going on with the rest of us.

What has Baylor been doing lately? BOUNCING. He loves the Jumperoo as much as Brighton did. Sometimes I will be holding him, and he will start moving his legs like he is in it, letting me know what he wants to do! He is eating 2 meals a day. Applesauce, pears, squash, sweet potatoes, green beans and peas. I need to revisit the carrots and bananas that he wasn't crazy about last month. Also, he is spitting up A LOT less!! I just realized that my laundry frequency has slowed down considerably! He sits up. He is not crawling yet, but he does have a way of traveling around on the floor. I have been surprised a couple of times lately after leaving him on his activity mat, then coming back a couple of minutes later and finding him halfway across the room or sitting up on his hand and knees! Guess I cannot turn my back anymore. Oh! He is also growing his 3rd tooth. This one is one of his front top ones. He is a cutie. Full of smiles and laughter.

I imagined myself this summer having to hold back on doing many things that I enjoy during the summer such as boating and beaching but it looks as if he may be a trooper after all, and we won't be the "Shut-Ins" that I once imagined. I am going to buy him his little baby life jacket tomorrow!!

Back to the Beach 2013

We have just returned from another beach trip. The Antley/Baygents condo was available last weekend so  I packed us up we and headed back over! This time around we had incredible weather.

Brighton made a little friend named Olivia. They played in his little pool most of the time.

We got lucky again as Baylor was so good on the beach! While Brighton was playing with his new friend, Baylor either slept in the tent, or sat in the bumbo looking all around him. Usually he was just happy to hold onto a beach toy!!

Our trip was sort of like a repeat of a few weeks ago when we went, except add warmer weather! We went to Biminis to eat one night and to a Japanese steak place another. We also visited the game place that we discovered the last time which Brighton loves. Baylor was a real trooper and  happily went with us everywhere we wanted to take him!

We got to stay from Friday until Tuesday. We were all VERY sad to leave. We could not have enjoyed ourselves more! The only thing that made it better was knowing we have another long weekend beach trip with the Antley's coming up in June that we are looking forward to.

Mid-Week Nothings...

Not much going on this week.  Jason took this cute picture of Brighton playing outside in the kayak though so I thought I would add it. Now as for actual Kayaking, we have not done any of that this season. This week it has been BEAUTIFUL outside though so the time for that is soon. I doubt  I  will do much of it this year as I am NOT going to take Baylor. Jason is pretty good at handling the kayak while supporting  Brighton but I do well just to be able to paddle myself in the dang thing! HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!

Here is Baylor showing off his teeth.

Mother's Day Weekend

We had a great weekend. On Friday Jameson's school had a Spring Luau. Lacey took her girls and invited us along. Brighton and I met them there.

It was a cute set up. They had games, bouncy houses, little swimming pools, and of course, the "beach".

Brighton got to perform his 1st Karate Kid move!

That was so much fun!
On Sunday, I woke up feeling incredibly blessed. Blessed to have such a wonderful mother who is not just my mother but my friend! We have so much fun together. I am so lucky.

I was also feeling so much love and appreciation for my 2 beautiful children. I feel so complete having sweet Baylor as part of our family now.

Brighton could not be any sweeter. He has been so loving and affectionate to me lately. I wish it could always be this way... FREEZE HIM!!

My boys are just so handsome and sweet and I love them so. These pictures don't lie!
Brighton  made me a gift at school and has been so excited since Thursday when he brought it home for me to open it. Jason of course made me feel very special as well.
To make things even better, my sweetheart niece made me a very special gift. Yaya helped her to make birdhouses covered in broken china and stained glass! I was so touched that she not only made her mom one but her Aunt Season one as well. So sweet. AND, she even gave me her Hershey's Kiss from church!

I had a great day spent with my family. Went to church and out to a fabulous lunch! What a great day and weekend!

Taylor Madison Flowe

Our new niece Taylor has arrived! She was born Tuesday, May 7th. She is perfect in every way! Mommy Kelly is doing well and daddy Craig is just beaming with pride!!

Taylor was 7 lbs. 10 ounces and 20 in. long. I got to meet her on Wednesday, and I swear even though my boys were only slightly smaller than her I do not remember them being that tiny. She was tiny, and beautiful and soooo sweet! It is just a reminder of how fast they grow!

All 3 are now at home. I am so happy for Kelly and Craig and excited to watch Taylor grow up. Brighton and Baylor will be happy to have a cousin on the other side now! And Taylor and Baylor will only be 7 months apart in age!

Taylor arrived just in time for Mother's Day this weekend!! How special :)

How to decorate your storage shed...

Ha, this is a funny post to me. I am sure my mother will be surprised to see it. I thought it was worth showing though. My dad has had this storage shed in their yard for a few years now. I guess it has been bothering my mom because this spring she set in action a "shed beautifulication plan". I did not think she was serious about it at 1st. I was wrong.

Before

After the Beautifulications...

Mickey built the awning and Donna painted it. She added the potted plants, iron gates and floral window box. Nice job!! I guess I should take her plans more seriously. I also may want to keep this in mind since Jason just laughed at me when I suggested (at the time of planning our house) that we build a 3-car garage. I am sure one of these are in our future once our garage hoarding is complete.

Cinco De Mayo Recipe ~ Margarita Chicken

Since Sunday was Cinco De Mayo, I decided to get into the spirit and make one of my new favorite recipes.  "Margarita Marinated Chicken"
This little concoction came to me when I thought of the margarita stuff that we had left over from our beach trip. Also, since planting my summer herb garden, I am always looking for ways to use my fresh herbs.

Ingredients:
Half a cup of E.V. olive oil
1/4 cup of margarita mix
1/4 cup of tequila
Juice and zest of 3 limes
Small bunch of fresh cilantro (chopped)
Salt (Sea or Kosher)
Whisk all of these together, minus the salt. Get your chicken drunk in this mix for about 4-12 hours. Before grilling, take the chicken out of the marinade and salt on one side. What is a good margarita with no salt???

This is tangy, and salty and good, just like the drink! This is my 2nd favorite marinade. NOT to be confused with my favorite Cilantro Lime marinade which I will share later, once my cilantro is in full bloom and I have plenty of it!

Derby Days

We had one of those rare weekends where we had no plans or obligations. Kind of nice! Jason and I got some things done around the house, but we were starting to get bored...
Thank goodness my mom decided to put together a little Kentucky Derby party for us on Saturday!

Of course our Gents and Belles were dressed in their finest southern attire for the occasion!

All dressed up, and drinking out of our silver cups!!
For the adults, Yaya made her famous Mint Juleps. Yum. We only drink these once a year, on Derby Day

Of course Baylor cannot be outdone by anyone! Even if he is not old enough to pick a horse to pull for he can still look good!

That was fun. Jameson ended up coming home with us to have a sleep over with Brighton. She has not spent the night with us since we have had Baylor. Now that he is a good little sleeper we can do those things again!!
